PathIntact crawls your live docs on a schedule. When a link, anchor, redirect or sitemap breaks, you get the exact change to make.
Free check of 50 pages. No account. Works with Docusaurus, Mintlify, GitBook, ReadMe, MkDocs and six more.
On docs.acme.dev/docs/quickstart the anchor #install is missing because the heading was renamed to Installation. The fix is to link to #installation.

Quickstart
Get from zero to a first request in about five minutes. You’ll install the SDK with the CLI, create an API key, and send a request from your terminal.
Installation#installation
npm install @acme/sdk
The package is published on npm and needs Node 18 or later. Set the environment variables below before you continue.
Authenticate
Before you authenticate, make sure the SDK is installed. Create a key in the dashboard and export it as ACME_API_KEY.

Anchor #install is missing on /docs/quickstart
The heading was renamed. #installation exists on the page and matches the link text. Change the fragment on the three linking pages.
- [Install the CLI](/docs/quickstart#install)+ [Install the CLI](/docs/quickstart#installation)
Linked from /docs/cli/overview, /docs/sdks/node and /guides/first-deploy.
The build passed. The live site didn’t.
A build-time link checker reads your source once and passes. PathIntact reads the site people actually visit, on a schedule, and finds what changed since.

- ## Install+ ## Installation
docs/cli/overview.md, line 41
[Install the CLI](/docs/quickstart#install) unchanged
The link lives in a different file and never changed, so nothing flagged it. The anchor was gone the moment the deploy finished.

Day 2
External link npmjs.com/package/acme-cli returns 404 from three pages.
The package was renamed. Point it at npmjs.com/package/@acme/cli.
Day 5
Anchor #install is missing on /docs/quickstart.
The heading was renamed. Use #installation.
Day 9
/docs/v1/auth now returns 404.
Add a redirect to /docs/authentication.
Day 12
The sitemap lists four URLs that redirect.
Replace them with the final URLs.
Day 19
/docs/guides/webhooks lost its last inbound link.
Link it from the Guides sidebar.
Day 26
Three-hop redirect chain on /docs/cli/login.
Point the first redirect at the final URL.
and eight more, each with the fix.
Every alert is a fix, not a to-do.
Each issue names the page, the pages that link to it, and the exact change. When a redirect is the answer, you get a snippet in your platform's own format where it has one, and in your host's format otherwise: nine in all, from vercel.json to .htaccess.

/docs/v1/auth used to exist and now returns 404
Twelve pages still link to it. The closest live page is /docs/authentication, a 92% match on title and headings. Add the redirect:

npmjs.com/package/acme-cli returns 404 from three pages
The package was renamed. Point the three links at npmjs.com/package/@acme/cli. External links are rechecked at least once a day, so you will hear when this one moves again.

Redirect chain
First seen Mon 06:12
/docs/cli/login takes three hops to land
It redirects to /docs/cli/auth, then to /docs/cli/authentication. Point the first redirect and the six links that use it straight at the final URL.
Also caught: broken internal links, broken anchors, orphan pages, redirect loops, links that land on a redirect, sitemap URL errors and drift, noindex pages in the sitemap, pages missing from it, soft 404s, missing or duplicate titles and descriptions, canonical problems, links to an old docs version, missing or multiple H1s, and broken og:images. Twenty-two checks on the live site. External link checking is on from Starter up, and two of the checks compare against your previous crawl, so they start on the second one.
Nothing to install. Point it at your docs.
1
Enter your docs URL. PathIntact detects the platform, reads the sitemap and runs a first crawl in minutes.
2
Verify you own it with a DNS record, a meta tag or a file. Nothing changes on your site.
3
Pick where alerts go: email, Slack or a webhook. The next crawl runs on schedule, and every one after.
A link problem has to fail on two crawls, or on a recheck ten minutes later, before it becomes an issue. You get one alert when it is confirmed and one when it is resolved, and nothing in between. A weekly digest sums up what is still open; turn it off if you would rather only hear about changes.
Email, Slack, or a webhook.

How is this different from a build-time link checker?
Build-time checkers see your source once. PathIntact crawls the live site on a schedule, so it catches external links that rot, anchors that vanish when headings change, pages that lose every inbound link after a nav rewrite, and URLs that break during a platform migration.
Will I get noisy alerts?
No. A link problem must fail twice, either on two crawls or on a recheck ten minutes later, before it is confirmed. Alerts go out only for newly confirmed issues and for resolutions.
Does it work with JavaScript-rendered docs?
Yes. Paid plans render pages in Chromium when the static HTML is only a shell, so anchors and links created on the client are checked too.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Enter your docs URL, verify ownership with a DNS record, meta tag or file, and monitoring starts. Nothing changes on your site.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. Free covers one site up to 250 pages with weekly crawls and email alerts. Every account also gets a 14-day Pro trial without a card.
