Sitemap diff

Compare two sitemaps to see which URLs were added, removed or kept. Removed URLs are status-checked so you can spot pages that disappeared without a redirect, which is the fastest way to lose search rankings after a restructure.

Or paste the new sitemap XML below.

Free, no signup. Limits: 5 runs per hour per visitor, 50 pages or 500 URLs per run. Results expire after 7 days.

How it works

  1. Enter the URL of the old sitemap and the new one (or paste the new XML).
  2. We expand sitemap indexes and gzip files, then compare the URL sets.
  3. Removed URLs are requested; any that return 404 without a redirect are flagged.

FAQ

Does it support sitemap index files?
Yes, up to 10 sitemap files per side and 500 URLs per side for the free tool.
Why are some removed URLs not flagged?
Only URLs that return 404 or 410 without redirecting are flagged. A removed URL that redirects is fine.
