Sitemap diff
Compare two sitemaps to see which URLs were added, removed or kept. Removed URLs are status-checked so you can spot pages that disappeared without a redirect, which is the fastest way to lose search rankings after a restructure.
How it works
- Enter the URL of the old sitemap and the new one (or paste the new XML).
- We expand sitemap indexes and gzip files, then compare the URL sets.
- Removed URLs are requested; any that return 404 without a redirect are flagged.
FAQ
- Does it support sitemap index files?
- Yes, up to 10 sitemap files per side and 500 URLs per side for the free tool.
- Why are some removed URLs not flagged?
- Only URLs that return 404 or 410 without redirecting are flagged. A removed URL that redirects is fine.
